About transformerstcg.org

transformerstcg.org is a community organization continuing and stewarding the Transformers Trading Card Game through new cards, organized play, maintained rules, physical distribution, online tools, and support for new and returning players.

Hasbro and its subsidiary Wizards of the Coast published the original Transformers Trading Card Game beginning in 2018 and ended official support in 2020. The players continued. Community designers, organizers, artists, and players created new releases, maintained organized play, preserved rules knowledge, and found new ways for the game to grow.

transformerstcg.org exists to bring that work together and support the Transformers TCG for the long term.

Where We Came From

Main article: Team Bayformers

transformerstcg.org is the direct organizational successor to Team Bayformers, a competitive play and design group formed in December 2019 primarily by players from the San Francisco Bay Area of California.

Team Bayformers became one of the major organizations of the early post-cancellation community, operating a successful online tournament scene and producing Wave 6: World|Strike and Wave 8: Waste|Lands, the largest Transformers TCG release produced to date.

That work grew into the transformerstcg.org team of today. The team also works with former members of Turbo Revving Old Punks (TROP) on the preservation and development of their fan releases Phase One and Monster Menagerie as Org Wave 7: Monster Menagerie and draws on contributors from across the game’s community history.

Across full Waves, starter decks, Versus Sets, update boosters, convention packs, and promotional releases, our designers have created and maintained more than 500 cards.

Our current main release, Org Wave 9: War|Void, is in Public Beta. Org Wave 10: Wild|Fury has also been announced.

What We Do

transformerstcg.org supports the physical and online game through several connected projects:

• We design, test, balance, and publish new cards and releases.
• We offer professionally printed community Transformers TCG cards internationally for donations through our Donation Storefront.
• We provide free print-and-play versions of our releases through download.transformerstcg.org.
• We distribute physical cards through conventions, local events, giveaways, and online-play rewards.
• We maintain current rules, rulings, formats, and card legality information for transformerstcg.org-supported play.
• We develop and maintain the transformerstcg.org Tabletop Simulator Table, supporting official, community, and independent fan-produced content for online play.
• We support local event organizers with promotion, marketing, and prize support. Contact us to get involved.
• We organize online and in-person events, Public Beta testing, and community discussion through Discord and other platforms.
• We commission and credit human artists and require our cards to be human-authored and human-produced throughout, without generative AI in artwork, wording, rules text, templating, layout, or other card-production elements.
• We preserve the history of both the official and community eras of the Transformers TCG.

Donations through the Storefront support card production, packaging, shipping, events, future releases, and artist commissions.

We are also developing db, a modern Transformers TCG deck builder and card database at db.tftcg.org. It is being built to combine deck-building tools with detailed card information, rulings, artist and contributor credits, release histories, format support, and other resources for the modern game.

Our Direction

Our design work aims to expand the number of viable characters, strategies, formats, and levels of play across the game.

Our releases follow a Wave 4+ balance philosophy, using the broad power level of Wave 4 as a reference while evaluating later cards, mechanics, and strategies individually. The goal is a wide and durable card pool in which new releases create additional possibilities for play.

We support format diversity across casual, competitive, physical, and online play. Players are free to explore different formats, card pools, and community-created content according to how they enjoy the Transformers TCG.

These principles are reflected in our All Are One Ideals for Community Builders, which emphasize community, collaboration, feedback, format diversity, long-term sustainability, and respect for Wizards of the Coast’s Fan Content Policy.

We want the Transformers TCG to remain accessible to beginners and casual players, rewarding for experienced competitors, welcoming to returning players, and sustainable for the designers, organizers, artists, and players who will carry it forward.
