The All Are One Ideals for Community Builders
For the wider story of the Transformers TCG and the era that followed its cancellation, see History of the Transformers TCG.
transformerstcg.org exists as the premier fan community continuing the Transformers Trading Card Game after its cancellation by Wizards of the Coast in 2020. As that community has grown, we put together six Ideals as a shared mission statement for community builders (the organizers, designers, and playtesters who keep the game moving forward) and for the direction of the team going forward.
1. We builders are pro-Transformers TCG community
Community builders are essential to the scene through event organization, welcoming new players, playtesting, and card design. The focus stays on keeping players central, balancing personal enjoyment with genuinely inclusive community participation.
2. We builders are pro-collaboration
No single builder holds complete authority. This means favoring shared contributions, celebrating collective accomplishments, and making space for other builders’ success rather than gatekeeping it.
3. We builders are pro-feedback
We actively invite community input (suggestions, feedback discussions, and playtest reports) to keep improving both gameplay and how the community builds around it.
4. We builders are pro-format diversity
From casual kitchen-table games to competitive tournaments to online play, different play styles are all valid. Builders should support players engaging however they prefer, while staying open to experimentation.
5. We builders have the sustainability of the game in mind
Keeping the game alive long-term takes a collaborative, organized approach: not a single person’s effort, and not a short-term push.
6. We builders are pro-WotC Fan Content Policy
We commit to honoring Wizards of the Coast’s Fan Content Policy, so the game and its community can keep developing without conflict with the IP’s stewards.

Guidance on the Ideals
The Ideals are kept brief so they stay easy to understand and universal in what they ask. That brevity leaves out the detail of how transformerstcg.org applies each one to the recurring questions of game design, organized play, and community governance. Guidance exists for that purpose. Each Guidance article explains how an Ideal is put into practice on one such question. It describes the application; it does not amend the Ideal.

- Meaningful Public Beta: Guidance on Ideal 3: what transformerstcg.org commits to when it calls a release a Public Beta.
