Privacy Policy

transformerstcg.org collects as little personal information as practical while running our website, community resources, events, and other Transformers TCG services.

We do not sell personal information, we do not build advertising profiles about our visitors, and we do not require personally identifying information to take part in the community. A player can read this site, download cards, follow the rules and rulings, and join most events without telling us who they are in real life.

This page explains what information we may receive, why, and what we do with it.

Information You Give Us

Contact Form

Our Contact Us form asks for three things: an email address, a reason for writing, and your message. We use them to read, answer, and keep track of your inquiry.

Two other things happen when you submit that form:

  • Spam protection. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a check in your browser to confirm you aren’t a bot. To complete that check, your IP address is sent to Cloudflare. We don’t store it.
  • Delivery. Your message and the email address you supplied are sent to a transformerstcg.org inbox through Cloudflare Email Routing, so answering you means your message sits in an ordinary mailbox.

We never ask for your legal name, home address, telephone number, date of birth, or government identification simply to contact us. Please leave sensitive personal details out of your message unless we genuinely need them to help you.

Events and Community Activities

Some events, tournaments, and giveaways need limited information to run. We collect only what that activity actually requires, and we use community handles or usernames instead of legal names wherever the activity allows it.

We do not ask entrants for addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, or government identification. Where a prize has to be shipped, we ask for a shipping address from the person receiving the item, at the point it’s needed, rather than collecting addresses from everyone in advance.

Public tournament records may include player handles, decklists, results, and other game information. That material is published as part of the competitive record and is meant to be public.

Website Analytics and Technical Information

This site runs on Cloudflare, which delivers, accelerates, and protects it. Cloudflare processes the technical information needed to do that, including IP addresses, request details, and security data.

For traffic measurement we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless, it does not fingerprint visitors, and it does not follow anyone across other websites. We use it to see which pages are read, find broken or slow pages, and decide what to work on next.

We do not use Google Analytics or any advertising-oriented analytics product.

Cookies

transformerstcg.org sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own.

Cloudflare may set cookies where they’re needed for security, bot detection, or traffic management. Third-party content embedded on the site, and any service you click through to, follows its own cookie practices rather than ours.

Embedded and Third-Party Content

Some pages embed or link to outside services, including YouTube, Discord, Steam, Ko-fi, and social media platforms. Playing an embedded video or following a link lets that service collect information under its own privacy policy. We don’t control those practices.

Embedded YouTube videos load through youtube-nocookie.com, which holds back YouTube’s tracking cookies unless you actually start playing the video. Some videos are hosted on Cloudflare Stream instead and play through Cloudflare’s own player; Cloudflare already handles every request to this site, so those embeds involve no additional service.

Donation Storefront and Payments

Our Donation Storefront runs on Ko-fi. Checkout, payment, and account information you enter there is handled by Ko-fi and its payment providers under their own policies. We never see or handle your payment card details.

To fulfill an order we may receive your name or display name, email address, the items ordered, a transaction or order identifier, and a shipping address when something physical is being sent.

We use that information to pack and send your order, sort out problems with it, and keep the records the storefront needs. Order and shipping information is available only to the people doing fulfillment or support work. We do not copy it into design documents, event records, Discord channels, or general project spreadsheets, and we delete surplus copies once an order is complete.

How We Use Personal Information

We use what we receive to answer messages, run events, fulfill orders, keep tournament and historical records, prevent spam and abuse, maintain and improve the site, and meet legal obligations that apply to us.

We do not use personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not use it to contact you about anything unrelated to why you gave it to us.

When Information Is Shared

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Information is shared only where it’s needed to operate the site through our hosting, email, and infrastructure providers; to fulfill an order or a request you made; to run an event; to protect the site and its participants from abuse or security threats; or to comply with a valid legal requirement.

Within the team, access is limited to the people who need the information for the task at hand.

We do not pass information about participants to other fan projects, community groups, or third parties just because someone takes part in the Transformers TCG community.

Data Minimization

We collect the least identifying information that will do the job. Where a community handle, an anonymous identifier, or an aggregate number works just as well, we use that instead.

Ordinary participation in transformerstcg.org activities does not require a legal name, home address, telephone number, date of birth, government identification, financial account details, or employment information. Where something like a shipping address is genuinely necessary, we use it for that purpose and nothing else.

How Long We Keep Things

We keep personal information only while there’s a reason to. In practice:

  • contact messages stay while the inquiry is still live or useful;
  • order records are kept for fulfillment, support, and accounting;
  • shipping addresses are removed once they no longer serve a purpose;
  • security and infrastructure logs follow our providers’ retention;
  • published tournament results and community history are kept as permanent records, because publication was the point of collecting them.

We review stored personal information periodically and remove what no longer has a purpose.

Children

This site is for a general audience and doesn’t ask visitors their age. Children under 13 should not send us personal information without a parent or guardian involved. If we find we’ve received information from a child under 13 that we shouldn’t have, we’ll remove it.

Your Requests and Questions

Use our Contact Us page for any privacy question: what we hold about you, a correction, a removal request, or a concern that something personal was published by mistake. We’ll look at each request individually and do what we reasonably can.

Two limits worth stating plainly. We can’t act on information held by Ko-fi, Discord, Steam, YouTube, or other independent services, which you’ll need to approach directly. And we may decline to erase public historical records, such as tournament handles, decklists, and results, where those were published as part of the event itself.

We’ll update this page as transformerstcg.org adds or changes services. The current version always lives here, with its revision date at the top.
