transformerstcg.org Community Usage Notice

transformerstcg.org creates, maintains, and distributes community content for the continuing Transformers Trading Card Game. We want players, organizers, archives, websites, deck builders, digital platforms, local game stores, and other Transformers TCG projects to be able to preserve and use our work while maintaining clear attribution, provenance, and version history.

This notice describes how transformerstcg.org permits redistribution and reuse of material that we own or control. It does not grant rights in intellectual property belonging to Hasbro, Wizards of the Coast, individual artists, or other third parties.

Free Access and Play

Released transformerstcg.org community cards are made available digitally for free through:

https://download.transformerstcg.org

Players are welcome to download, print, sleeve, and use these cards for personal, casual, organized, and digital Transformers TCG play.

Files may also be submitted to local or professional printing services for personal and community use, subject to the printer’s own policies and requirements.

Redistributing transformerstcg.org Releases

transformerstcg.org permits complete, unmodified copies of our community releases to be redistributed for non-commercial Transformers TCG purposes.

This includes distribution through:

  • download mirrors and archives
  • deck builders and card databases
  • digital gameplay platforms and mods, including Tabletop Simulator and OCTGN
  • local game stores and play groups
  • tournaments and other organized play
  • preservation projects
  • community websites and resources

When redistributing transformerstcg.org content:

  1. Preserve the cards and included materials in their original form.
  2. Preserve transformerstcg.org identification, artist credits, contributor credits, and other attribution.
  3. Identify transformerstcg.org as the publisher or maintainer of the release where appropriate.
  4. Include this Community Usage Notice, or a link to https://transformerstcg.org/community-usage, with substantial digital distributions whenever practical.
  5. Do not represent transformerstcg.org content as your own work.
  6. Do not imply that transformerstcg.org endorses, sponsors, or operates your website, platform, event, organization, or distribution unless we have established such a relationship.
  7. Do not charge players for access to digital transformerstcg.org release files.

Reasonable costs associated with printing, materials, shipping, venue access, event participation, or similar services are separate from charging for access to the digital files themselves.

Unmodified mirrors, archives, integrations, and other distributions that preserve attribution and provenance are welcomed.

Card Databases and Digital Platforms

Deck builders, card databases, Tabletop Simulator mods, OCTGN implementations, digital gameplay platforms, and similar projects may include unmodified transformerstcg.org cards and release information under the permissions described in this notice.

Where practical, identify the applicable release, preserve artist and contributor credits, and provide a link to transformerstcg.org as the source or maintainer.

If your platform supports multiple versions of a card, clearly distinguish current transformerstcg.org versions from historical or independently modified versions.

Modified Cards, Packaging, and Promotional Material

Players and play groups are welcome to experiment with house rules, alternate formats, card bans, balance changes, and other modifications within their own gameplay environments.

transformerstcg.org maintains collaborative feedback, playtesting, and balance channels so that proposed changes to our cards can be evaluated with input from designers, developers, playtesters, and players before becoming part of a maintained release.

Independent edits made outside those processes can create significant player confusion. When altered versions of transformerstcg.org cards circulate publicly, players may reasonably believe that the changes were tested, approved, or adopted by transformerstcg.org. Multiple competing versions of the same card can also make it difficult for players to know which text is current, which version is legal in an event, and which version they should download, print, or use online.

For these reasons, we strongly encourage anyone who believes a transformerstcg.org card needs a balance or gameplay change to bring that feedback through our established feedback and collaborative balance channels. We actively review feedback and can incorporate appropriate changes into canonical releases, replacement cards, rulings, or future updates.

transformerstcg.org does not provide permission under this notice to publicly redistribute altered versions of transformerstcg.org cards as though they were transformerstcg.org releases.

The same expectation applies to booster packs, packaging, advertisements, release graphics, educational materials, promotional images, logos, product descriptions, and other marketing or presentation materials created by transformerstcg.org.

Please do not alter these materials and redistribute them in a form that could reasonably be mistaken for an authentic transformerstcg.org product, announcement, release, or publication.

If you publicly distribute an independently modified version under rights otherwise available to you:

  • clearly identify it as an independent modification
  • preserve appropriate attribution to the original source and contributors
  • clearly distinguish it from the current transformerstcg.org version
  • do not describe it as current, canonical, approved, authorized, or maintained by transformerstcg.org
  • do not use transformerstcg.org branding or presentation in a way that could create confusion about its origin or approval

This distinction is especially important for packaging and promotional material. Modified booster packs, advertisements, release graphics, or similar materials can create confusion about which cards, versions, products, and design decisions actually came from transformerstcg.org.

If you need artwork, card images, packaging assets, release graphics, or other transformerstcg.org materials for archival, platform, event, or promotional purposes, contact us. We would rather help provide appropriate source material than have altered versions circulate without clear provenance.

Feedback concerning balance, card replacements, rules, and future revisions is welcome through the official transformerstcg.org Discord and feedback channels.

Canonical Versions and Materials

transformerstcg.org maintains canonical versions of its community releases so that players can reliably identify the cards, packaging, promotional materials, rules, and other resources associated with our formats, downloads, events, and online play.

Independent databases, archives, platforms, and fan projects may contain older or independently modified versions. Only versions published or expressly adopted by transformerstcg.org represent current transformerstcg.org releases and materials.

Attribution and Contributor Credits

transformerstcg.org releases are collaborative works involving designers, developers, playtesters, artists, organizers, and other contributors.

Please preserve credits supplied with our releases and avoid removing artist signatures, attribution, source information, or other identifying information from distributed materials.

The presence of material within a transformerstcg.org release does not mean that transformerstcg.org owns every element of that material. Individual contributors and third parties may retain rights in their respective work.

Third-Party Intellectual Property

TRANSFORMERS, the Transformers Trading Card Game, related characters, names, marks, artwork, and other intellectual property belonging to Hasbro, Wizards of the Coast, or other rights holders remain the property of their respective owners.

transformerstcg.org is an independent, non-commercial community organization and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Hasbro or Wizards of the Coast.

Nothing in this notice transfers, licenses, or claims ownership of intellectual property belonging to those rights holders or to individual artists and contributors.

Anyone redistributing, adapting, printing, or otherwise using material containing third-party intellectual property remains responsible for evaluating the rights applicable to their own use.

Nothing in this Community Usage Notice is intended to restrict fair use, commentary, criticism, news reporting, scholarship, archival activity, or other rights available under applicable law.

Fair use and similar legal rights exist independently of permission from transformerstcg.org. Whether a particular use qualifies for those protections depends on the circumstances and applicable law.

This notice describes permissions and standards provided by transformerstcg.org for material within our control. It does not determine the legality of uses undertaken independently of those permissions.

Partnerships and Promotion

Projects that preserve attribution, provenance, and clear identification of transformerstcg.org releases may be eligible for collaboration, cross-promotion, organized-play support, or other partnerships with transformerstcg.org.

This Community Usage Notice exists to keep transformerstcg.org releases accessible while ensuring that players can identify where cards came from, who contributed to them, and which versions are currently maintained.

We encourage responsible preservation, distribution, integration, and play throughout the Transformers TCG ecosystem.
