As a community notice, we have been notified that a separate Transformers TCG fan group has independently made and are distributing edits to cards that we created, tested, funded, and produced: cards in community waves World|Strike and Waste|Lands.
These edits are independent, unilateral, and we were not allowed to participate in discussions around these fan edits. In addition, these changes were made to cards they do not own or control and are being distributed without our permission or participation.
As such, despite their claims that they are “official”, we do not condone or promote these edits, and consider them unsanctioned, unlicensed, and in an anti-community spirit.
We urge any outside fan groups that use our content to participate in a community, collaborative fashion with us to their balance and play, to avoid player confusion and negative experiences.
We expect that future, actually-official changes to World|Strike and Waste|Lands – which we own, distribute, invest in, test, and collaborate with many community voices over – will inevitably differ from any independent and unsanctioned fan group edits.
For our part, we intend to continue our open door policy for discussing card balance and gameplay, and will continue to intake all feedback and experiences for that purpose. As such, please look to our channels for official edits and changes to our content, and discuss them there! We’re listening.
Update: Since this notice was published, the fan group has responded with a public personal attack on one of our members rather than with any answer to the concerns above. We raised a question about how our releases are edited and distributed; the reply was aimed at a person. That is an escalation nobody needed, and we note it here only so the record is complete. We will not answer in kind. Our door remains open on the actual subject: how World|Strike and Waste|Lands are changed, and who gets a seat at the table when they are.
