If you play through transformers.cards or take part in the associated “Transformers TCG Community” fan Discord, welcome. transformerstcg.org is the community home for the continuing Transformers Trading Card Game, supporting new and returning players through community-designed cards, current rules, multiple formats, online and in-person organized play, free downloads, professionally printed cards, and an active Discord.

The two are separate, unaffiliated fan projects, and some cards differ between them. Here is what to check before you play here.

Moving to transformerstcg.org play

Before bringing an existing deck into a transformerstcg.org event or online game, check our Releases, Rules, Ban List, and Formats. Card versions, rulings, legality decisions, and supported formats each differ between the two projects.

The clearest case is the Team Bayformers lineage. transformerstcg.org is the direct organizational successor to Team Bayformers, the original creators of Wave 6: World|Strike and Wave 8: Waste|Lands, and we maintain, develop, remaster, and publish the authoritative versions of both.

transformers.cards has adopted those releases for its own formats and made independent changes to some cards. Those versions were developed separately and are not maintained as part of the Team Bayformers lineage, so a card you know from there may not match the one used here. For transformerstcg.org play, use our versions of World|Strike and Waste|Lands.

You do not need to relearn everything first. Check the Ban List, pick a format, and play a game.

Community development with broader participation

Our design and balance work is built around sustained playtesting, structured feedback, and participation from players with different formats, play styles, and levels of competitive experience.

A broader balance advisory council is planned, drawing on trusted, tenured players from across the community. It will be seated once organized play has run long enough to draw on a real body of event results.

More formats and more viable ways to play

Our goal is to increase deck diversity across multiple supported formats and keep more strategies viable for casual and competitive play.

New and returning players are a particular priority for transformerstcg.org. Our rules resources, events, downloads, starter materials, and online play are designed to make it easier to discover the game, return after time away, and find an appropriate level of play.

Free cards and professionally printed releases

All transformerstcg.org community releases are available as free print-and-play downloads through download.transformerstcg.org.

Professionally printed community cards are also available for donations through our Donation Storefront, as well as through conventions, local events, giveaways, and online play rewards.

Competitive integrity and design access

Private design access and competitive advancement are kept apart. Anyone with meaningful private access to unreleased cards is under a competitive lockout, from six months for most access to permanent for the game director: they keep playing, and none of their results count toward standings, qualification, or awards. Online play and organized events

Our Tabletop Simulator table supports official-era cards, current transformerstcg.org releases, and a historical archive of other fan projects.

We are developing db, a modern Transformers TCG card database and deck builder that will eventually be released at db.tftcg.org.

links between cards, releases, and related resources
eventual integration with the transformerstcg.org TTS Table
